Pizza Restaurant? NOT TODAY!
So, one day I fancy a pizza. Not just a regular store bought pizza, but one made and cooked for me to have at home. Lazy I know, but sue me ;) I have a look at local places, and find this promising advert with offers, drinks, you name it. So, I think why not. I go to book online, but the site does not work. Should I take this as an omen I think? No I shall not be beaten! Onwards I go. It is a nice day, I have a full tank in the car and nothing but time for the rest of the day, so totally getting rid of the lazy feeling, I take a journey out there to get one made up whilst I wait. Brave I know. So, after about a 10 minute drive, I park the car and see the place is a bit busy. Hating to queue for anything, I decide to sit and wait it out for a bit. Sitting there, I just happen to look around the back of the restaurant. As luck (thank you!) would have it, out pop two young lads. Both in whites, with the aprons, they are clearly the 'chef's of the establishment. I then watch on in horror, as these two blossoming Gordon Ramsey wannabes, proceed in the following activites: 1) Lighting a cigarette and flicking ash over one another for fun (What larks) 2) Using their fingers to determine what wildlife have burrowed into the crevices of their nostril passages since their last check. (Which, if this expedition is anything to go by, nothing goes unturned)! (and flicking their findings to one another for a second opinion....guffaw!)
3) Wiping said searching tools (fingers) on their chef whites (The hilarity!) and then finally, leaning on the wall of the restaurant, both hands down the front of their trousers, rummaging at such a speed as to find the family silver in 1 minute, displacing as much as possible as obviously as possible. (Why??) My pasta that night was delicious. |
